Whole-Wheat Waffles
Ingredients
- 5 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 2 c. whole wheat flour (½ white, ½ whole wheat)
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 2 ½ c. milk
Instructions
- Melt the butter and let it cool.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and milk.
- Add to the flour mixture along with the butter and mix until all the dry ingredients are wet.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
